Annual Charity Ball event, which is the non-profit organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Many needy children and families in the Tate County and North Panola County area look to the chapter to provide for some of their most basic needs - whether it be Christmas presents, Thanksgiving dinner, dresses for Prom, or pencils and paper for school. This formal event promises to be a fun way for community members to get involved and lend their support! Junior Auxiliary hopes that as many people as possible will join them for the Ball. This year the theme will be a “Mardi Gras Masquerade”, complete with Cajun cuisine by Blooming Bites and plenty of masques and beads to go around! There will be live band entertainment by The Party Jammers, and photography by Shutter Shots by Susie Ricks. City Alderman and JA Life Member, Lana Nail, will be speaking about the importance of giving back to the community. Partygoers will also have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items in a silent auction. Although the ladies are still searching for items that will pique your interest, the current list includes original paintings, hotel accommodations, autographed sports items, photography sessions, gift certificates to local eateries, and personal care items. Tickets are on sale now for $100 per couple, or $65 for an individual. T-shirts are available for $15 with a ball ticket, or $20 without ball ticket. If you are interested in tickets, T-shirts, sponsorship, or donating an auction item, please contact the Junior Auxiliary at 662-501-0270 or [email protected]. excited to invite everyone to donate back to school and nursing supplies for distribution among schools in our area this month. Last year, donations from the community were enough to provide a box of supplies each to 8 schools in the Senatobia, Tate, and North Panola school districts. Members of the Junior Auxiliary of Tate – Panola are confident that this year donations will increase. School supplies are needed throughout the school year, but this initial collection allows schools to start with a small surplus for those students who are unable to complete their back-to-school lists. Members of the chapter have teamed with Wal-Mart of Senatobia to collect supplies from the community this month on July 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. outside the entry area. Schools in our community welcome a variety of donations, including hand sanitizer, Neosporin, notebooks, wide-rule notebook paper, white glue, crayons, pencils, folders with brads and pockets, Kleenex, Band-Aids, erasers, child-size underwear packs, child-size socks, backpacks, etc. Monetary donations received during this collection period are used to purchase supplies not received on the collection day. The hard work goes on year-round, but during the first week of April each year, the Junior Auxiliary of Tate – Panola pauses to say thanks to the community for another great year. A year packed with service to families and children through approximately 15 service projects per year that include everything from school supplies collection to Valentines' for those living at the Nursing Home. JA of Tate-Panola has 10 members who each donate 50 hours every year to the chapter's various projects. The chapter raises funds each year through different fundraising projects, such as Butter Braid sales and this year's upcoming Fashion Show on April 21. "This is such an exciting week for us, because it gives us a chance to thank all of the citizens of Tate County and the North Panola area for supporting us in this work, and to recognize our wonderful corporate sponsors who finance these projects," Emily Johnson, current chapter president, said. "The families and children we serve are so deserving and thankful for this assistance, and none of that would be possible without the support of the entire community." Junior Auxiliary has a rich history of service, and the Junior Auxiliary of Tate Panola, is carrying on that tradition. This Chapter embraces the founding principles of our national organization, “helping children and making a difference in their lives,” said Charlotte Seals, NAJA President.
